At Mountain Valley Manor Adult Care Home (MVM) we understand that due to the Covid-19 virus visiting with a loved one has become very difficult time for everyone’s families involved. We understand that the restrictions to visit your family members residing at MVM in person is frustrating, stressful, and far from an ideal situation. We are working hard to implement adaptations that will make it more functional yet safe for everyone involved.
On a brighter note, we want to thank everyone for their cooperation and assistance in making our window visits with your loved ones such a huge success!! We have received positive feedback.and we will continue to work hard to ensure the safety of our residents and staff. We hope that we will be able to open our doors further in the near future. As always, we will keep you posted of any changes to our New York State (NYS) Dept of Health (DOH) visitation policies as they occur.
Also we have a very important update!
We are making a few changes to our resident window visitations and have now expanded the available hours!
We want to remind you to please call Jennifer or Rebecca at 845-331-1254 in advance to discuss how to set up a window visitation and/or to schedule your visitation. With our new expanded weekend window visitation hours, we will be able to accommodate most residents’ families schedules.
Our window visitations operate under NYS DOH guidelines. Under these guidelines we have to ensure that we follow the appropriate state regulations regarding resident and family visitations. In order for MVM to remain in compliance our special window visitation area we must always have a staff member present with each resident. Due to the high demand of window visitations at this time, we are limiting each of our resident visits to 30 minutes, per family, per day, depending on what appointments are available. This ensures that all of the residents of MVM have the ability to visit with their loved ones.
In addition to this current schedule above, we are adding every other Saturday from 10-11am and the opposite Sunday from 1:30-2:30pm. We respectfully request that the weekend visit slots primarily be prioritised for out of town families and for families who are unable to visit during the week due to work constraints.
As a reminder, under NYS DOH guidelines, all visitors are required to have the following information recorded. Name, address and phone number for all persons at each visit. Currently there is a limit of two visitors at any time per resident. All visitors will need to be masked (NO EXCEPTIONS) and remain seated or standing behind the grey cobblestone pavers in the visitation window area. We also ask that visitors please do not stand on top of the pavers or pass any items through the fence or window to the resident. MVM residents are required to remain seated through out the visit. If at any time a visitor or resident is found to be in violation of any of the NYS DOH visitation policies or regulations regarding the resident window visitations in our home, we reserve the right to end the visit immediately and suspend any future visits from any of the parties involved. Since the visitation area is outside, we also reserve the right to cancel visits for any upcoming severe weather conditions.
Please note that the NYS DOH has also stated that if ANY resident or staff person tests positive for COVID-19 in our home, window visitations are required to be shut down completely for 28 days after the initial positive test results.
To sign up to reserve your resident window visit appointment or to learn more about window visits, please call Jenn or Rebecca at 845-331-1254 for a schedule of available times.
