Due to the continued threat of the COVID-19 Global Pandemic, Mountain Valley Manor will be offering flu shots for all residents and staff here at the facility. In previous years we have allowed residents to use their own physicians and other clinics at their discretion for their annual flu shot. We have discussed the risks associated with residents leaving the facility and being exposed to the general public for a flu shot. All physicians are in agreement that this would be a counter productive idea and having a flu clinic in the facility is a safer option.
On October 8th the pharmacist from Woodstock Apothecary will be present at the facility to give all residents their flu vaccinations. Woodstock Apothecary will be responsible for obtaining any doctor’s orders and billing insurance companies for each resident. Residents will be responsible for any copays and will be billed accordingly. Copies of the vaccination record will be sent to the resident’s primary physician for their office records and a copy is maintained here at Mountain Valley Manor.
All residents are encouraged to receive their shot at this time. With the continued concerns regarding COVID-19 it is reasonable for all residents to protect themselves from further illness.
If you have any questions regarding flu shots, please feel free to reach out to Jennifer during Monday through Friday from 8am to 2pm. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
Resident Visits Update!
https://mountain-valley-manor.appointlet.com
Mountain Valley Manor Adult Care Home (MVM) would like to thank you for all of your efforts in helping keep both our staff and residents healthy and safe during this pandemic. Since we locked down in March for the COVID pandemic, our residents have remained 100% COVID-19 free and we continue to work diligently to maintain their safety in our home.
Our team at MVM has worked hard to create a safe in-person, open & outdoor visiting area using recommended safety protocols, masks, and social distancing. We understand the need and desire to visit with your family members in person at MVM. We hope by utilizing this new outdoor family visiting space you will be able to enjoy your loved ones without compromising their safety.
If you would like to sign up for in-person visits in our new garden space, you will need to make an appointment. Attached is the link for our online appointment maker. We are attempting to streamline the visitation process. To sign up for in-person visits it requires information to be input per New York State Department of Health requirements. This website will assist in gathering that information for us. https://mountain-valley-manor.appointlet.com
By using this website, we can ensure that you have the opportunity to schedule visits that work within our safety parameters and within your schedules. Please understand that we are striving for equality and would like to limit the number of visits each resident receives in a week so that each resident can enjoy a visit!
In addition to the basic information collected at the time an appointment is scheduled, we are required to perform a temperature check for each visitor as well as a health survey. This survey will be sent to you one hour prior to the scheduled visit time. Without this information completed we will not be able to allow a scheduled visit to commence. Currently, this survey will be sent via the email address you use to book the appointment. We are working on a text solution. If you have any questions about this process please contact Jenn or Rebecca at 845-331-1254 or healthcare@mountainvalleymanor.com
*** Please note these new hours and dates start Monday 9/21/2020***
Updates to Visitation
We would like to continue to thank all of you for your continued cooperation and understanding with NYS DOH’s limited resident visitations that we have been working under.. At Mountain Valley Manor Adult Care Home (MVM) we understand that due to the Covid-19 virus visiting with a loved one has become a very difficult time for everyone’s families involved. We also understand that the restrictions to visit your family members residing at MVM in person is frustrating, stressful, and far from an ideal situation. Although we have recently made this situation much better by implementing in-person window visits with our residents, we are looking to improve and go a step further. Going into the fall season we are pleased to announce that we are working on two new visiting options for your loved ones. We are working hard to implement a new outdoor and a new indoor visitation spaces with adaptations that will make it more functional and safe for you to visit.
The first project we are working on is creating a safe, socially distanced controlled outdoor space for visits. We are designing a sitting area where you will be able to visit with your family members face to face and still maintain all NYS DOH required safety protocols including: mask wearing & social distancing measures. This outdoor space will allow for more rewarding face to face experience. We are currently constructing the visitation area and as we finish the space up will be announcing new scheduling times and days of availability. Please check in with us for updates! You can call or email Jenn or Rebecca for additional information or scheduling at 845-331-1254 or healthcare@mountainvalleymanor.com
The second addresses the seasonal colder weather that is coming for visitations. We are considering several options for a long-term indoor resident visiting space that falls within the NYS DOH’s safety regulations for Covid-19. We believe that we have come up with a working solution that will both satisfy NYS DOH and our resident’s families. We are working towards getting approval for this indoor resident visitation space and will implement it’s construction once we do. After all of the Covid-19 safety protocols are met, and get the construction finalized, we are hoping to be able to offer an indoor face-to-face visiting area with your loved ones just in time for the holidays!
At MVM we want to assure you all that we are working diligently to continue to maintain our resident and staff safety during this unprecedented health crisis. If you have any questions, or concerns please do not hesitate to call, email or text us. We look forward to seeing you in our home soon!

Window Visiting Updates
At Mountain Valley Manor Adult Care Home (MVM) we understand that due to the Covid-19 virus visiting with a loved one has become very difficult time for everyone’s families involved. We understand that the restrictions to visit your family members residing at MVM in person is frustrating, stressful, and far from an ideal situation. We are working hard to implement adaptations that will make it more functional yet safe for everyone involved.
On a brighter note, we want to thank everyone for their cooperation and assistance in making our window visits with your loved ones such a huge success!! We have received positive feedback.and we will continue to work hard to ensure the safety of our residents and staff. We hope that we will be able to open our doors further in the near future. As always, we will keep you posted of any changes to our New York State (NYS) Dept of Health (DOH) visitation policies as they occur.
Also we have a very important update!
We are making a few changes to our resident window visitations and have now expanded the available hours!
We want to remind you to please call Jennifer or Rebecca at 845-331-1254 in advance to discuss how to set up a window visitation and/or to schedule your visitation. With our new expanded weekend window visitation hours, we will be able to accommodate most residents’ families schedules.
Our window visitations operate under NYS DOH guidelines. Under these guidelines we have to ensure that we follow the appropriate state regulations regarding resident and family visitations. In order for MVM to remain in compliance our special window visitation area we must always have a staff member present with each resident. Due to the high demand of window visitations at this time, we are limiting each of our resident visits to 30 minutes, per family, per day, depending on what appointments are available. This ensures that all of the residents of MVM have the ability to visit with their loved ones.
In addition to this current schedule above, we are adding every other Saturday from 10-11am and the opposite Sunday from 1:30-2:30pm. We respectfully request that the weekend visit slots primarily be prioritised for out of town families and for families who are unable to visit during the week due to work constraints.
As a reminder, under NYS DOH guidelines, all visitors are required to have the following information recorded. Name, address and phone number for all persons at each visit. Currently there is a limit of two visitors at any time per resident. All visitors will need to be masked (NO EXCEPTIONS) and remain seated or standing behind the grey cobblestone pavers in the visitation window area. We also ask that visitors please do not stand on top of the pavers or pass any items through the fence or window to the resident. MVM residents are required to remain seated through out the visit. If at any time a visitor or resident is found to be in violation of any of the NYS DOH visitation policies or regulations regarding the resident window visitations in our home, we reserve the right to end the visit immediately and suspend any future visits from any of the parties involved. Since the visitation area is outside, we also reserve the right to cancel visits for any upcoming severe weather conditions.
Please note that the NYS DOH has also stated that if ANY resident or staff person tests positive for COVID-19 in our home, window visitations are required to be shut down completely for 28 days after the initial positive test results.
To sign up to reserve your resident window visit appointment or to learn more about window visits, please call Jenn or Rebecca at 845-331-1254 for a schedule of available times.
Starting Friday August 21st we will be offering the following
Monday 10-11am
Tuesday 12:30-1:30 *note- this is a change in time*
Wednesday 10-11am and 1-2pm
Thursday 1-2pm
We are looking into our options to continue these visits as the weather turns colder and will keep you up to date as we have information!
And once again we would like to thank you once more for your patience cooperation and assistance in keeping us all safe during these unparalleled times!
